Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the world`s noblest of grapes. It produces a wine embraced in aristocratic character that`s sure to be immediately noticed upon first taste. You`ll find this red to have an ample and intense perfume, a slightly grassy essence with overtones of raspberry and other wild fruits. The palate is dry with good body and there`s blackberry and bramble flavors that bask in a lingering persistence which culminates into a mouthwatering finish. Enjoy with hard cheeses, grilled steaks, and a Tuscan favorite - wild boar. If you would like to try a traditional Cape cuisine with this wine try Ostrich Carpaccio with capers or Springbok fillet with a balsamic and berry reduction. The Bundu Star Shiraz/Pinotage will also compliment smoked meats.
Personally, I don't have any current plans to eat wild boar or even ostrich, but my husband and I enjoyed this bottle as we snacked on toast and caviar. The description says that it is dry, and I agree that it is, but it wasn't as dry as some wines I've had, so this might be appealing to those who shy away from the usual dry wines.
