James Molesworth at Wine Spectator makes a trip each year through France's Rhône wine region. This year he spent a good ten days tasting 2007 vintages.
The Rhône wine region is in southern France along the Rhône River valley. You can read Molesworth's fairly detailed report here.

Based on that trip, as well as the dozens of bottled wines I've tasted since I've been back in the office, I can report that it's a mix of good and bad news right now.Molesworth looks in some detail at what the Rhône is offering up from 2007 and draws the conclusion that the year's wines are excellent - although they still stand in the shadow of a even more outstanding 2005 vintages.
First, the good news. The Rhône stands alone among French wine regions that had a successful 2007 harvest...
