The Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa, the Adirondack 's premier luxury lakefront resort, is hosting the Adirondack Festival of Food & Wine, March 22-25, 2007. After last year's festival success, the inn is once again bringing together prized chefs and vintners to share their culinary secrets.
This year's event will span three days and will include chef demonstrations, lectures, seminars, a "Ready Set Cook" competition and plenty of food. Guests will mingle with other food and wine enthusiasts, learn from the chefs and will return home with a file of recipes for personal use.
The highlight of this year's festival will be the kickoff event on Thursday, March 22, a Taste of New York Reception. The reception will feature a vast selection of wines, cheese and other products from throughout New York state. There will be several food tasting stations, as well as some of the state's preeminent chefs and wine experts.
"I'm very excited that some of my friends and top colleagues in the culinary world are going to be a part of the festival," commented Paul Sorgule, executive chef at the Mirror Lake Inn. "Food lovers of every level will learn from their expertise and will be able to experience exquisite foods and fine wines."
This year's guest chefs include Anton Flory, certified master chef and retired chef of TopNotch in Stowe; Dale Miller, certified master chef and executive chef of Jack's Oyster House in Albany; Curtiss
Hemm of the New England Culinary Institute and author of Pink Ribbon Cooking; George Higgins of the Culinary Institute of America as well as certified master baker; and Eamon Lee, executive chef of the Century Club in Syracuse. Each chef will be hosting a seminar or demonstration as well as participating in and preparing meals for the event.Mirror Lake Inn in-house chefs also include Paul Sorgule of the American Academy of Chefs and executive chef at the inn; Jason Porter, chef de cuisine; Greg Michaud, chef des cuisine; and Tim McQuinn, chef tournant.
