America's Greenest Winery?
Filed in archive Vineyards on April 11, 2008

Parducci Wine Cellars, in the Mendocino, California town of Ukiah, just might be the country's most ecologically-minded winery. In addition to being the nation's first carbon-neutral winery, Parducci recently announced that it now meets all of its energy needs from non-polluting, renewable sources, including its on-site solar power facility and a Green-E certified wind energy generator. Said partner, Tom Thornhill (pictured above) in a recent press release, "Parducci is continuously striving to be America's Greenest Winery."
Parducci, the oldest family-owned winery in Mendocino County, produces a variety of wines under the Parducci and the Parducci Signature Label. Their 2006 Parducci Chardonnay recently received the "Double Gold/Best in Class" award at the New World International Wine Competition.
