And This One Is Just Right!

I'll be honest with you - sometimes I'm a sucker for a good name. And while I haven't had the pleasure of tasting any of the 4 Bears Wines yet, I have heard good things about them. But how did Sean Minor, founder and owner, think of that name?

From The Dallas Morning News:

Over lunch at Ferré recently, owner Sean Minor talked about being in the kitchen discussing blends for his new wine venture when his 5-year-old daughter walked in. After he explained what he was doing, she said he must be looking for a blend that was "just right," like the little girl in the home of the three bears. A wine name was born.

Mr. Minor's "four bears" are his kids.

These new and exciting wines are making waves and placing in the top three at wine competitions. The 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon took silver and the 2004 Chardonnay took bronze at The San Francisco International Wine Competition. And the orange county Commercial Wine Competition this year, they won Gold for the 2005 Sauvignon Blanc and Bronze for both the 2004 Chardonnay and 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon.
