Barefoot Wine

When in doubt, you can never go wrong with good old Merlot, well almost never, but luckily, I was not wrong about my cheap wine shopping trip and this bottle of Barefoot Merlot, 2/$10.
Pretty much, it was everything a good Merlot should be, fruity and a little smoky, but not overly strong. Hey, and of course, I love a cool wine label as well.
Here are some notes from the Barefoot Wine web site:
Wine Description & Tasting Notes:
Barefoot Merlot is a luscious wine with alluring flavors of boysenberry and chocolate. Hints of anise and subtle tannins complement the decadent, silky finish.
Medals & Accolades:
GOLD Medal, 95 POINTS...California State Fair Wine Competition, Sacramento, CA

"Soft nose with nice berry, raspberry, blackberry, plum and some smoky oak and floral notes. The moderate intensity palate is smooth and clean and mostly red raspberry, plum and cherry with some light tannin before a medium length, fruity finish... well done and a great bargain."...The Colorado Wine News

I have never like merlot wines, but this is really great. Now my husband wins a bet. I have said he could never change my mind about liking a merlot, but this wine is great. I guess I was wrong!

We drink mostly Australian wine and often find the Aussie merlot a little astringent. That said, it blends very well with cabernet. The Barefoot sounds like a winning straight merlot.

I saw it on sale and decided to try it. The merlot reached out and grabbed me at the first sip. Have tried the cab as well, i'm impressed with barefoot wines.

Please, suggest a good Australian Merlot. My household enjoys at least
4 litres of Barefoot Merlot per week.
Just to say I've never enjoyed an Argentine Merlot. Go Ducks
