Cheap Wines
by tammy on October 4, 2006

Yes, I know. It's getting colder out so, just like I'm not suppose to wear white shoes, I'm not supposed to drink much white wine these days, but I never pay attention to trends that much when it comes to do what pleases me.
This Beringer 2005 Pinot Grigio I have to say did please me, especially considering it was a mere $5. On the company web site, they have it for $7, but just keep an eye out at your grocery store or wine shop and I'm sure you'll find it for less.
Here are their tasting notes as well:
When making Beringer Pinot Grigio, the winemaking team focuses on the refreshing crisp minerality and fruity peach undertones for which the varietal is known. Following harvest, the grapes are gently crushed and immediately pressed to minimize skin contact. A cool-fermentation follows in stainless steel to retain the Pinot Grigio's bright, fruit forward character. The resulting wine has a refreshing bite of juicy white peach and citrus, finishing with a flinty-minerality.
