Brie, Wine, and Bread
Filed in archive Food and Wine on April 19, 2006
I could basically live off of wine, bread, and cheese. Okay, maybe throw a little fruit in there too, but other than that I'm good to go.
One yummy combination I enjoy is brie, bread, and wine. And, I'm not just talking about slapping a little brie on a piece of bread.
Here's a mini-recipe for you:
Ingredients:
1 block of brie
1 roll of crescent dough
1. Pop open the dough-boy's roll of crescent dough, and separate the dough into two pieces.
2. Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray, and set dough pieces on cookie sheet.
3. Cut the brie in half, and set it in the middle of the each dough piece.
4. Wrap the dough around the brie.
5. Bake it per dough package directions.
Trust me when I tell you that the cheese, wine, and bread experience will never be the same for you after this.
Okay, now what wine? Last time I enjoyed this treat we were sampling a few different German wines, but I say, drink what you like because just about anything will go with this.
Oregonwines.com suggests the following: Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Gamay Noir, and Zinfandel.
