Crushpad Wins Wine 2.0 Business Plan Competition
Filed in archive Wine News on November 1, 2007
If you're familiar with Crushpad, the San Francisco-based company that is helping to take the world of wine down a peg (in terms of snootiness) by letting consumers make and sell their own wines at urban wineries, you will be excited to know that it has been selected the winner of the 2007 Wine 2.0 Business Plan Competition hosted by the entrepreneur network, Vator.tv.
Wine 2.0 is a wine industry networking group based on Web 2.0 concepts of social networking. Those involved in Wine 2.0 are using technology and the Internet to change the face of the wine world - from the way it is marketed to the way it is sold.
From Earth Times:
"Crushpad was the clear winner as demonstrated by the overwhelming number of votes, highest ratings and positive comments it received from the Vator community," said Vator.tv CEO and co-founder, bambi Francisco. "We are excited that we could be a catalyst in providing momentum and recognition for such an innovative company."
In this video, Crushpad founder Michael Brill explains how the business works:
Crushpad is an innovative company and one that we all will continue to watch. If anyone has ever made a barrel with them, I would love to hear about your experience!
