Fat Bastard Wines Donate to Cancer Research
Although it might seem far in the distance, October - National Breast Cancer Awareness Month here in the U.S. - will be here soon. For the fifth year in a row, Fat Bastard wines will be donating a portion of the proceeds from each bottle bought in September and October 2007 to help find a cure for this horrible disease.

Twenty-five cents for every bottle of Fat bastard sold in restaurants and retail locations, up to $75,000, will go various breast cancer research charities.

From Earthtimes:
"Each year 180,000 people - men and women - are diagnosed with breast cancer and we lose 41,000 of our family and friends to this horrible disease. The emotional and financial impact is far reaching," said Linda gainerlinks, Vice President, External Relations and Communications, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. "Our researchers are looking for better, more effective ways to detect, treat and ultimately prevent breast cancer, but we can't do it alone. The generous financial support we receive from companies such as Click Wine Group enables this life-saving research to continue. We are indebted to Click Wine Group and are proud to be their partner in the fight against breast cancer."

Click Wine Group's CEO, Peter Click, chose to earmark proceeds because breast cancer is such a prevalent disease - one that touches the lives of so many people. "Breast cancer does not discriminate, it affects women both young and old" said Click. "Together with the many consumers of Fat bastard wine, we are honored to support this important cause for five years running. We look forward to donating the proceeds of this program to our long standing partners both national and local, including Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center."

You can look for the "Live large, live long" necker on bottles of the wine, which should make them easy to spot. These neckers come with an attached enamel pink ribbon pin for consumers to wear and display their support.
