Favorite Cheap Wines
Filed in archive Cheap Wines on June 22, 2006
This past week on my normal grocery shopping rounds, there were so many of my tried and true wines to select from that I didn't pick up anything new for a change.
Now, I know this isn't necessarily a good thing, but sometimes you just want to make sure you have a bottle around that you know you will like.
Not all of my favorite cheap wines are on sale all the time, but there seems to be a couple that I can usually count on to be reasonably priced from time to time.
So, here are a few of my favorite cheap wines I've discovered over the past few months.
- 2003 Penascal Tempranillo: Normally I can find this Hardy wine for around $6 US most of the time.
- Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais-Villages: Not always "cheap" necessarily, but when this Beaujolais is on sale, and I do find it on sale from time to time now, I snag at least one bottle.
- Black Swan Shiraz: Very often on sale, normally in the 5 to 6 dollar range, and never disappointing.

If you like pinot grigio try Placido It is only about $8.00 and is a very good wine

Joe again. In regards to the Placido Pinot Grigio, I hate to sound pretensious, however I had a bottle of 2005 this weekend and did not enjoy it as much, look for 2004, its a better year
