Fine Frog Wine
Frog Town Wines kicked some serious frog bee-hind at the 2007 Finger Lakes Wine Competition, picking up almost a dozen awards. Located at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains in the state of Georgia, this small winery has a lot to be proud of.

From Frogtown Cellars picks up more awards for its wines:

Craig Kritzer, General Manager of Frogtown, said he entered twelve wines in the overall competition.

"This must be a record for any winery to win 11 medals out of 12 wines submitted to a major wine competition," Kritzer said. "This speaks volumes as to the depth of quality of Frogtown labeled wines. Competition for medals at The Finger Lakes is very much like a major California competition. Many of the awarded wines were from California."

During the last two and a half years, at California wine competitions, Frogtown has received 18 medals for its premium Frogtown labeled dry white and red wines.

Frogtown's 2002 Propaganda and 2002 Touché' won Silver medals at the prestigious San Francisco International Wine Competition in 2005 and Frogtown's 2002 Tannat won a Bronze medal at the San Francisco competition and was awarded a 90 point rating by the Wine Report and designated one of the 52 best wines tasted in 2005 by the Wine Report. Frogtown's 2004 Inclination won the highest medal for white wine blends at the 2006 L.A. County Fair and its 2004 Cabernet Franc receive one of only four Silver Medals in L.A. competition that awarded only one Gold Medal.

Frogtown produces over 160 tons of grapes from its 35 acres of vineyards in the North Georgia Mountains and 4,000 cases of wine in its three-tiered gravity flow winery.

Named after the "Frogtown" District of Lumpkin County, Frogtown Cellars was founded in 1998 on a 57-acre site. Vinifera grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Viognier, Sangiovesse, Tannat, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Touriga, Marsanne, Roussanne, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscat comprise ninety-five present of the grapes grown at Frogtown. Also grown are the American grape Norton and French American Hybrids, Seyval and Vidal.
