First-Ever Wine Festival in So. Alabama
Filed in archive Wine Events by Carol Bancroft on September 09, 2007

In some areas of the countries, wine festivals are annual events and people look forward to attending year after year. Well, residents in Southern Alabama are looking forward to a full-on wine festival for the first time.
From Baldwin County Now:
The full wine festival is not your typical wine tasting, festival chairwoman Ann Stein said. George McKee, an owner of Vino e Grappa in Daphne, said he jumped at the chance to participate in a wine festival.
"This area is ready for a wine festival like this," he said.
Sherrie Graham, publicity and marketing director for the event, said she is expecting around 750 participants to attend.
Both Stein and McKee said that this is the first time this area will have an actual wine festival complete with music, food and, of course, wine.
Proceeds will benefit the Service Center in Mobile, which assists approximately 3,000 people a month with basic items, said board chairwoman Sister Carolyn Oberkirch.
