Grapes at the Grocery Store
Filed in archive Wine Clubs on April 18, 2006
One sign of the popularity of wine is the amount of space it is taking up in your local grocery store. Mine has a wine section up front where all the "good stuff" is displayed, then one side of an entire isle, right next to the bread (another vice of mine), and then the end-caps. There is also wine near the beer and it's not unusual to find it smattered throughout the store in small displays or other end-caps.
On a recent visit to my local Publix grocery store, I learned that they have a wine club of sorts that offers a free quarterly wine magazine along with information about wine on the company's web site (storing information, food suggestions, tours, and grape guide).

Now, unfortunately, the magazine is only available in a few southern states - Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina - because, obviously, that's where Publix has stores. However, you can access their web site anywhere.
And, hey, I would bet your local grocer has also caught on to the wine craze and may have something similar. So, go google them sometime. You never know what might be available.
