Inheritance Cabernet Sauvignon
This bottle of 2004 Inheritance Cabernet Sauvignon was part of our weekly wine club shipment from California. I have been, for whatever reason, preferring cabernets lately, and this was nice because it's alcohol content wasn't up in the 14s like most seem to be this day from California. At 13.9% it was close, but I could tell a difference. It was fruity without being too much.

I discovered that WineShop.com also carries this exact vintage:

Rodney Beard named this small boutique brand after joking that his arduous and exacting winemaking methods were costing his family their inheritance. Little did he know just how successful and sought after the wine would become. 2004 Inheritance Cabernet Sauvignon is a big, smooth, even-keeled gem produced through a specialized barreling process. The wine was seperated into new American Oak, new French Oak and neutral barrels, then recombined into different blends and chosen from a rigourous tasting of blends. It has intense concentration, ripe cherry fruit, hints of green pepper and a light vanilla finish. Serve at room temperature with your favorite cut of steak.
