While I can't say it stands up to the Alice White 2004 Shiraz that was a more recent cheap wine deal, Jacob's wine tasted almost as good Alice's.
However, after looking around on the net, I don't think my six dollar bargain was all that amazing because it seems to sell for about that price on many on line stores.
67 wine has it for $5.99 (US): Full depth crimson with purple hues indicating freshness. Excellent fruit lift, showing violets, dark berries and black pepper. Rich, ripe blackberry, blood-plum and spice with a full, fleshy mid-palate. Outstanding depth of fruit flavour supported by subtle coffee-like oak notes and fine velvety tannins. A very distinctive example of australian shiraz.
