Filed in archive Wine Awards on May 29, 2007
Jost Vineyards came away as big winners last week at the All Canadian Wine Championships. When all the votes were tallied, this winery walked away with 12 medals. Here are more details from The Nova Scotia Business Journal:
Nova Scotian wines received a record 12 medals at the All Canadian Wine Championships held in Windsor, Ont. last week. Malagash winery Jost Vineyards took home two of the best category or "double gold" medals for the Jost 2005 Leon Millot and the Jost 2005 L'Acadie Pinot Grigio. "The All-Canadian Wine Championship is Canada's Oscars when it comes to wines, so to win that many Golds is a great thing and shows how Nova Scotia wines can and do stand up to scrutiny by our peers from Niagara and B.C.," said Hans Christian Jost, owner of Jost Vineyards. "We're just tickled pink." Martha Reynolds, executive director of the Winery Association of Nova Scotia said medals are important because they serve as an indicator of how Nova Scotia wines compare to others from around the world.
