Lindemans 2005 Merlot

I searched all over the Lindemans' web site to get some information on a particular bottle we tried recently - a 2005 Lindemans South Africa Merlot.
I did find a few other short reviews on line, but I thought it was kind of weird that I couldn't find this particualr bottle on the company's web site.
Maybe I just missed it.
Oh well, we were very impressed with this vintage none the less.
We weren't alone on this as shown by this review on Wine Reviews Online written by Gerald D. Boyd:
Lindemans, South Africa (South Africa) Merlot 2005 ($8, FWE Imports): It's not easy to find a Merlot with appealing varietal character for less than $10, but this one delivers. The fruit-forward flavors are bright blueberry supported by subtle oak notes that lead to a nicely structure medium finish. For my taste, this is the best of the lot of four new releases from Lindemans South Africa.

I recenty aquired a bottle of Lindemans South African Merlot and found the wine to be exceptionally good. Although I could not find the product on Lindemans web site I must say that the flavor of this Merlot was fruity at first and then a sharp finish. I am surprised being the bottle was free after a purchase meats and Cheeses from a local Deli in Small town America. Who says money buys taste!
