Little Penguin Shiraz

I tend to go in cycles for the different kinds of wines that I pick up at the store, but honestly, I don't see that many Shiraz on sale, so when I saw a bottle of this for $5.99, the top of my cheap wine price, I figured it was worth taking a chance on it, and I was pleasantly surprised.
This was actually the first time I've tasted penguin wine, and now I'm scouring the grocery isles in search of more bargains, but so far, nada.
This wine tends to be on more the dry side than the fruity, but I don't mind a dry red now and then.
Here's another blogger who liked it, The Bar Project:
It's odd to say something could be both peppery and sweet at the same time, but The Little Penguin Shiraz seems to pull it off. The first thought is to the fruits underlying the flavor, but the afterthought is to the little kick it has hidden in a sweet package. It's also odd that the aroma of the wine is completely different than the flavor. The smell gives you the pepper, but the drink itself masks that quite well in more fruit flavors, keeping it from being an overpowering (and thus detrimental) feature.
