New Category - Cheap Wines
Filed in archive Cheap Wines on April 14, 2006
I just added a new category to the celebrate Wine Blog. I thought about calling it Economical Wines, but hey, let's just be frank. Economical is just a fancy way to say cheap, especially when it comes to wine.
I thought this might be a fun topic because, while I love a nice bottle of Eiswein on occasion, I'm just an average gal who has to watch her pennies. So, when I do my weekly grocery shopping, I usually keep an eye out for a good wine deal or two.
I've made it a habit now to buy a few inexpensive (okay that does sound better than cheap) bottles of wine that I can feel free to open and enjoy whenever without the concern that "this is too good to drink on a Tuesday night." My bargain wine shopping price is in the $5 to $8 range, and usually I find some pretty decent deals.
In this category, I'll chronicle my search for cheap - but tasty wine. I'll document the duds and the studs. If you know of any good cheap - aka inexpensive - wines, then post them in the comments so I can include them in my grocery store or wine shop meanderings.
