Last winter, my husband and I hosted a wine-tasting party for a small group of our friends. It was great fun; everyone enjoyed themselves and we even swayed some opinions on what people think of wine. We've never done any blind tastings, though. (Well, once we did a blind gin tasting to determine if Hendrick's really was as good as a someone told me, but that's another story...) At any rate, I came across this new game called BlindWine and thought it would be a fun gift for a fellow wine lover.
The came contains everything you'll need to plan your party: the invitations, labels, bags for up to six bottles of wine, scorecards, even medals. Your job, as host, is to determine a
theme and instruct your guests to bring a bottle of wine the corresponds with that theme. The game retails for around $20 and I suppose it would be easy enough to gather all the necessary materials yourself, but I happen to be a fan of one-stop shopping.
If you want to learn more about the game, check out the
BlindWine Web site. (And if you host a party, be sure to post your results - so far there is only one party experience on the site. I'm curious about this!
