Peppers Guest House

This sounds like an awesome place to get away from it all and enjoy some great wine and food while looking out over some wonderful scenery . Travel writer, Shaney Hudson, jokes about how they are doing their part to help fight the global wine glue in Australia:
With all the publicity in the media about the global excess of wine we've decided selflessly to do our part by drinking a drop or two in the Hunter Valley. We choose the luxurious Peppers Guest House on the recommendation of a friend.
The building is at the top of a steep hill and has sweeping views across the patchwork of vineyards, paddocks and properties that make up the Hunter. The 47 double rooms have been refurbished but, even with its modern trimmings, the Guest House retains a country cosiness that reflects its regional setting.
On Saturday morning we open the white plantation shutters in our room to reveal rolling grounds, fresh air and blue sky. Heartened by the clear, crisp weather we take a pre-breakfast stroll and find a mob of kangaroos grazing on the front lawns.
