Shop until you drop and drink and eat until you drop as well, or maybe the shopping will help you work off the great wine and food at the Culinary & Wine Showcase in Washington next week from May 23rd to the 27th. (Boy, there are so many wine events going on next weekend!)

This is a comparison of Washington state wines with those of other major wine regions (California, Australia). Pairs of wines will be poured, one from Washington, one from the comparison region. Wines will be matched by varietal, price and vintage in order to make for the most meaningful side-by-side evaluations. Featured wines include: Helix by Reininger 2004 Syrah (Columbia Valley), CSM 2005 Canoe Ridge Estate Chardonnay (Horse Heaven Hills), Watershed Syrah 2004 Margaret River Western Australia, Watershed Chardonnay 2006 Margaret River Western Australia, Paul Dolan Organic 2006 Chardonnay Mendocino, and McDowell 2003 Syrah Mendocino.
