Trumpeter Torrontes 2005
Filed in archive Wines from Argentina on February 24, 2007
Even my husband, who is not much of a white wine drinker, was curious about this bottle of Trumpeter Torrontes 2005. We had it during a weekend evening of white wine tasting and various snacking. It was light and citrus tasting, but not overly tart, which is something that tends to turn both of us off.

Vineyards
The grapes are sourced from the Maipu district of Mendoza about 2,600 feet above sea-level. The 24 year-old vineyards receive plenty of warm, sunny days, cool nights and mild harvest wich allow for gradual ripening and an optimum level of maturity. Hand-tended and hand-harvested, the Rutini family's high altitude vineyards provide the foundation for Trumpeter.
Tasting Notes
An intensely aromatic and distinctive wine with predominant aromas of white peaches, and hints of jasmine and rose. This summery white wine displays a pleasant freshness with citrus notes and a long, full finish.
Technical Information Alcohol 13.5%
