California Wines
by Carol Bancroft on October 21, 2007
What if you want to experience the fruits of California wine country, but you don't want to drink wine? A Berkeley, CA-based company seems to have come up with the answer: Vignette Wine Country Soda, a "super-premium" soda sweetened only with the juice of California varietal wine grapes. The sodas are available in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay flavors and have no added sugar, high fructose corn syrup, no preservatives, no caffeine, no added colors, and (obviously) no alcohol.According to the LA Times:
The Pinot Noir soda tastes of cherries and violets; Chardonnay soda has hints of pear and green apple. Refreshing and not too sweet, they're showing up on restaurant beverage lists, but you can also pick them up at specialty food stores and delis. The sodas are currently available at select locations in California, or online at HelloDelicious.com where a 12-pack will run you $35.
