Vilafonté Wine Videos
Filed in archive Wine Videos on February 5, 2007
This is the first of a number of wine videos created by Vilafonté.
How ultra cool is this!? Vilafonté has started Wine reality tv, which basically includes lots of wonderful web-based videos about their wine making process. Here are the some of details from Wine.co.za:
The Vilafonté vineyard and harvest team will document every day of the February/March 2007 harvest with hand-held video cameras. At the end of each exhausting day, all the footage will be combined and edited into a 30-45 second episode of 'what happened at Vilafonté today' which will be posted on our website.
Because of the immediate turn-around times, the footage will be rough, edgy and as close to live as we can achieve. "We hope to capture the essence of this glorious part of South Africa and the excitement, tension and drama of harvest time in our cellar," says Zelma Long, winemaking partner at Vilafonté.
[...] "This reality wine show is part of an experiment," says Ratcliffe, "to bring the passionate wine consumer closer to the real face of winemaking and give them an exclusive insight into the remarkable lengths that we go to in order to create serious red wine. Our 6-8 week online harvest adventure will break down barriers between winemaking, wine growing and wine drinking. We hope that what we are doing will allow the internet to 'flex' its muscle and bring the passion of winemaking to the world."
The 'wine reality TV' episodes can be viewed at www.vilafonte.com, through the www.wine.co.za portal and will also be hosted on www.youtube.com, www.myspace.com and www.blip.tv allowing for a truly global viewing audience.Video embedded via YouTube.com
