Vinotherapy in Arizona
Filed in archive Wine Trips on January 9, 2008
Having a glass of wine is a great way to wind down and relax at the end of the day. And apparently grape seeds and skins are a great way to rejuvinate your tired muscles. I've written about vinotherapy offered at a Texas spa, and it's offered at select spas in California and in other parts of the country, as well. But now Arizonans can enjoy this luxury in their own backyard.
From the Arizona Republic:Clarissa Burt and Kjell Adstedt bring the product in from vineyards in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy. The Aji Spa at Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort is serving as the product's proving ground. If it catches on, the Tauleto-infused spa services likely will be used at other Starwood resorts across the country, bringing the combination of wine and massage to the masses.
Sounds intriguing, doesn't it? And the prices are comparable to other spa services (at least in the Metro New York area). Here's a partial list of vinotherapy services offered:
- Sangiovese Vino Scrub and Massage: $290.
- Sangiovese Vino Full-Body Massage: $155.
- Sangiovese Red-Wine Wrap: $155.
- Crushed Sangiovese Grape-seed Scrub: $155.
- Vino Pedicure: $90.
