Wine Related Contests
by Carol Bancroft on September 26, 2007

Wine Spectator has chosen the five finalists for its first Video Contest. You probably know that the Web site already features hundreds of wine-related videos about everything from wine tasting to vineyard tours. Earlier this year, the magazine announced a contest for similar videos, created by the magazine and Web site's readers. Every day this week, a new video will appear on the Wine Spectator Web site. You can view each video and then rate it from one to five stars.
The video with the highest average rating will win two passes to the New York Wine Experience, which includes two nights of Grand Tastings featuring top wineries from around the world, as well as daytime tastings with the senior editors of Wine Spectator and contributing editor Matt Kramer. It also includes a tasting of the Top 10 wines from the Top 100 of 2006. Who wouldn't want to win that?
But it's not just the Grand Prize Winner who "wins" here. All valid entries recieved either a free one-year subscription to Wine Spectator, or admission to any course at Wine Spectator School.
The winner will be announced Oct. 8 on WineSpectator.com and in the Dec. 15, 2007 issue of Wine Spectator.
The contest is expected to be an annual event, so if you're like me, and didn't know anything about it, keep it in mind for next year and enter!
