Here's more on the when/where from Wine and cheese tasting to benefit YWCA:
The second annual Women for Women wine and cheese tasting event will be 5 to 9 p.m. on May 10 at the Victorian-era home.
''The whole ambiance of the Vincent House is so lovely, every location has its own special charm,'' said Ann Davidson, executive director of the YWCA. ''We appreciate the opportunity to open the doors of the lovely Vincent House and invite the community to share our commitment to providing services for homeless women and children. It's going to be a very fun night.''
Four red wines and four white wines will be served that night, Davidson said. The red wines to be tasted will be Pepperwood pinot noir, Hope Shiraz, Bodega Malbec and Amani primituir. White wines will be Voga pinot grigio, Nobles Sauvignon blanc, St. Urbans riesling and the sparkling Segura Viudas brut.
Being able to taste these wines will give area residents a wider basic knowledge of wines, said Laura Ross, manager at Karen's Spirits & Wine, 328 Second Ave. S.
