Wine for Non-Wine Drinkers
Filed in archive Cheap Wines on May 27, 2006
In my continuing efforts to try new wines and find wine bargains, I picked up a bottle of wine at the grocery store that I had seen lots of advertising for and had quickly turned my nose up at: Arbor Mist Blackberry Merlot.
The website describes it as: A delicious blend of full-bodied Merlot wine with the natural flavor of real blackberries. Two flavors come together to create a new and fresh favorite. A tantalizing combination for any occasion.
I figured, hey, why not try it? I'm just way too much of a snob. Plus it was super cheap $3.99!
And, you know what? This wine turned out to be the perfect wine. That's right.
This is the perfect wine for anyone who does not drink wine!
After taking a few sips and realizing this tasted more like kool-aid or even Hawaiian punch rather than wine, I looked on the label to find the alcohol content...ah...6%!
Okay, so this wine is not for moi, but I could see some merits in it if you were having a party with a lot of people who don't normally drink wine. Especially during the summer when it's really hot (which one reason I decided to try it since it's in the high 80s right now where I live), this is a refreshing drink - drink mind you - but that's all I can really say for it.

I love the Strawberry Wine Blender but have not been able to findit any more. Has the company stopped making it? If not where can I purchase it? I live in Minneapolis MN.

I wonder why somebody who hates wine would try this. I don’t like beer and I won’t drink it even if it would be made from grapes.
