Wine on Tap

Okay, someone gets the brilliant wine gizmo idea of the century for this - wine on tap - aka the Enomatic.
I saw this mentioned on the Gothmasit web site, and before I finished reading the blog post, I was Googling away to find out more about this wine tasting machine.
From their web site:
With so many different wine labels and varieties it is not easy to find our way in such a vast and growing market.
At Enomatic we believe that only the pleasure of tasting can lead to the right choice.
It is with this spirit that our state-of-the-art Italian designed and manufactured Wine Serving System has been created.
Simply by pressing a button, you can serve the wine of your choice (Click the flashing button to see how).
Our patented technology enables a bottle of wine to be opened and protected from oxidation. Even after 3 weeks the wine tastes as if the bottle has just been opened.
They have a number of different models (like the one pictured) and even have a set up where you can get a wine card.
Just stick the card in the slot. Then push the button for your wine to fill your glass.

This seems like a wonderful idea for wine shops, but they even have models you can buy for home use.

I tasted on one of these machines at the SLO Vintners Tasting Room in San Luis Obispo, California. I didn't like it much. The only information you get on the wines is whatever is on the front label. The whole setup is very impersonal. I would much rather taste at a tasting room bar with a live person pouring who can talk knowledgeably about the wine.

That's something I didn't think about, but I see your point. I would think the person is really partically responsible for the actual sale, not just the taste of the wine.
