Decanter had a piece recently on the impact of the recession on wine prices in the US.
The era of the US$100-plus bottle may be over as the US recession takes its toll on Baby Boomers' wealth, according to a new report.The study found that for most American wine buyers, purchasing a $50 bottle of wine was "permanently out of the question." The story said that a "wine wine" is now defined as one costing more than $20 a bottle.
