Northwestern US Wines

I usually mistrust wines that have clever names and stylish labels, but the 2007 Chardonnay by Walla Walla's Wines of Substance Winery delivers both style and taste. This unique wine combines traditional characterics of a Chardonnay, such as French Oak aging, melon flavors, and a buttery finish, with surprising qualities like sharp citrus flavors and even a hint of coconut. The result is refreshing and smooth on the palate.
This Chardonnay retails for $18 via the winery's Web site. It's a good accompaniment to pastas, chicken, and shellfish.
