Wine, Women, and Robert Parker

I'll admit that this is wine news that is kind of out in left field, but I found it fascinating enough that I had to share it. We've all heard and read about various actors like Lorraine Bracco, Dan Akroyd, and of course francis ford coppola who all have their own branded wines. But what about an winemaker/actress from a different field of entertainment? Porn star Savanna Samson teamed up with winemaker Roberto Cipresso to create a Tuscany-made wine called Songo Uno (which means "Dream One"). It is a blend of 70% Cesanese, 20% Sangiovese, and 10% Montepulciano. Only 409 cases of the 2004 were produced and apparently Robert Parker thinks it's pretty darn good, rating it 90 to 91.

The National Post recently interviewed Ms. Samson:

And then - somewhere during our sipping and our dining at this dinner hosted by Toronto financier Larry Brenzel - Savanna, nee Natalie Oliveros, also told me how Parker is to wine what Jenna Jameson is to porn.

I wonder how he feels about that?
