Zinfandels Go For PA Gold
It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it. Three of the premier wine judges tasted 130 different Zinfandels at one of the largest tastings in Pennyslvania - Pittsburgh's annual Zinfandel Competition.

From the Contra Costa Times:
Wilford Wong, cellarmaster of Beverages & More; Tim McDonald of Napa; and Lisa Weeks of TGIC Wine Importers & Wholesalers deemed this year's double-gold winners to be from Drytown Cellars, Homefire Cellars, Latcham Vineyards and Granite springs Winery. The producers of those wines will advance to a final round of deliberations at the Sept. 7 zinfandel dinner, at which a winner will be picked.

The judges called a zinfandel from Estrella River Winery the best buy at less than $10.
