Sandy Mitchell is a full-time freelance writer, author, and blogger, based in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to writing for Celebrate Wine, she writes and edits the Cleveland pages for About.com. She also blogs at b5 Media about golf and holidays and is a frequent contributor to "The Better Drink," an ezine about sparkling wines, and to Grandparents.com. Sandy's articles have appeared in numerous print publications and websites, including "Life in Italy," "Mahogany" magazine, and "Live Life Travel." Prior to concentrating full-time on her writing career, Sandy worked in the food and beverage industry for more than a dozen years, as a restaurant manager, a fine dining server, and a wine buyer. When she is not at her computer writing, she is restoring two century homes, digging in her organic garden, or curled up with her two cats and a nice glass of sparkling wine (preferably a Prosecco).

I am a freelance writer based in New York's Hudson Valley. Wine has long been a hobby and over the last few years has become more of a passion than anything else. My wine education is simple: I read and I drink. I love showing people that wine need not be intimidating. It's something that should be fun! I enjoy seeing someone getting excited about food & wine and I love to share my knowledge on the subjects. Until a few years ago, my experience was in business and technology journalism. I was managing editor for a telecommunications trade publication and I've written copy for many corporate Web sites. I've since decided to combine my two passions and focus on writing about what I love most -- food and wine.
